Netflix has let go of nearly 300 employees, most of whom reportedly pushed far left ideologies, after ‘a slow down in revenue and decline in subscribers.’
According to a report the streaming giant lost about 3.6 million subscribers in the first quarter of 2022 alone.
In addition, Netflix also reportedly cancelled numerous projects that focused on LGBTQ and race as well as the employees that were working on and promoting the projects.
Many saying that woke programming – like the show ‘He’s expecting’ – is to blame for the massive purge of subscribers from Netflix, including Elon Musk who said the service’s tanking share price was because their content was ‘being infected by the woke mind virus.’
Recently Netflix dealt with a revolt after some of their most woke employees protested and publicly spoke out against the streaming giant over Dave Chappelle’s ‘Sticks and Stones’ and ‘The Closer.’
After the protests and current firings, Netflix’s Chief Executive Officer Ted Sarandos told employees that if they don’t like what the company does they may want to find another place to work.
In the memo Mr. Sarandos said that Netflix lets “viewers decide what’s appropriate for them, versus having Netflix censor specific artists or voices,” he continued,
“Depending on your role, you may need to work on titles you perceive to be harmful. As employees we support the principle that Netflix offers a diversity of stories, even if we find some titles counter to our own personal values. If you’d find it hard to support our content breadth, Netflix may not be the best place for you.”
