Newsom’s California Is K*lling Thousands Of Dogs Each Year, Despite $50M From Taxpayers To Create A ‘No-Kill’ State

#news  Governor Gavin Newsom’s California is k*lling thousands of dogs each year – despite Newsom promising a ‘no k*ll’ state, allocating $50 million in taxpayer dollars to achieve the goal.

California leads the nation with a 17% euthanasia rate in government run shelters which is more than double the national average, and experts say the k*lling continues with-out slowing.

In fact, some counties in California – like San Bernardino – have deaths that skyrocketed over 700% from 2023 to 2025, pushing the total system death rate to 48%.

Critics say this is another example of government mismanagement, where money is being collected to solve an issue, that never gets solved, and in fact gets worse after the infusion of cash ( i.e. homeless)

In Los Angeles alone, city-run shelters k*lled 1,224 dogs from January to September 2024 – which is a 72% jump from the same period in 2023.

In San Diego County, shelters k*lled 426 dogs in the last fiscal year, which is a 12% euthanasia rate.

Former shelter employees in San Diego say dogs with minor behavioral quirks – like growling over a toy or showing separation anxiety – are immediately labeled “untreatable” and k*lled, often without meaningful rehabilitation efforts.

In L.A., volunteers report healthy dogs being labeled unadoptable because of space constraints, creating a “conveyor belt” of death, while being kept in unsanitary conditions.

Critics say  Newsom’s liberal policies are to blame for amplifying the problem by causing skyrocketing rents and veterinary costs – fueled by high taxes and regulations – which has led to a wave of pet surrenders.

Larger breeds stay the longest in kennels, with their mental health deteriorating without proper exercise or socialization.

Meanwhile, liberal mandates like appointment-only adoptions have reduced public access, stifling adoptions and fostering a “fear mindset”

In San Diego, euthanasia records are riddled with inconsistencies – positive behavioral notes are ignored, people offering to foster dogs are dismissed, and review committees are operating without minutes or documentation.

Bills have been introduced to require that 72-hour euthanasia notices be posted, but democrats k*ll the bills.

Critics are now demanding audits of Newsom’s $50 million fund, saying money always ‘disappears’ when Newsom is involved.
