#new Baack Obama had a role in promoting the Virginia redistricting map, which will most like strip Republicans of representation in the state.
Democrats will have 10 seats to the GOPs one, despite about 46% of the residents in Virginia voting Republican in Presidential elections.
Critics are now comparing this ‘king-like’ power grab -that disenfranchises hundreds of thousands of voters – to behavior that is very typical of Obama.
They say he has a pattern of big government, power grabbing & centralizing moves that Obama has backed or pushed during his time in office and afterward
Obama:
Directed his intelligence agencies to ignore credible intelligence that showed President Trump was not colluding with Russia while instructing them to fabricate intelligence saying there was Russian Collusion.
Gabbard saying it was an effort to undermine Trump’s presidency in what she called a years-long coup
He forced the federal government to take over huge chunks of the healthcare system, required every American to buy insurance or pay a penalty, and shifted money from working families to the unemployed and into the pockets of Insurance companies with Obamacare
He repeatedly pushed to raise top tax rates and corporate taxes, arguing the government should take more from successful people to pay for bigger social welfare programs.
He bypassed Congress to protect illegal migrants from deportation and give them work permits, undermining the rule of law through DACA
The IRS under his administration delayed or denied tax-exempt status to Tea Party and conservative organizations while fast-tracking liberal ones, weaponizing government against political opponents.
After Congress refused new gun laws, Obama used executive orders to push restrictions, and expand federal power over the Second Amendment without a vote
He joined the Paris Climate Accord, a global deal that put unelected international bureaucrats in charge of American energy policy, costing U.S. jobs and energy independence while letting big polluters like China off the hook
He traveled the world apologizing for America’s strength and cut defense spending
And his Education Department pushed policies that divided Americans by race and class
Critics say he moved America closer to a system where the government picks winners and losers, silences dissent, and treats ordinary citizens’ votes and voices as obstacles to be managed rather than respected.
The Virginia redistricting push is just the latest example of that same mindset.
