Rep. Thomas Massie tried to force a House vote to impeach Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, accusing the Pentagon chief of ‘high crimes and misdemeanors’ over the Iran war.

Massie, who was primaried by Trump-backed Navy SEAL Ed Gallrein, filed a privileged resolution that leadership is required to take up within two legislative days unless the House adjourns early – which it did.

Massie did not warn GOP leaders before filing his resolution.
Let’s take a look at what Massie is alleging:
🔻Article I: Waging the Iran war in violation of War Powers Resolution Section 2(c) – Massie says the war was unlawful from the start.
🔻Article II: Continuing the Iran war after both chambers directed removal of U.S. forces
🔻Article III: Continuing hostilities after the 60-day War Powers cutoff.
🔻Article IV: Ignoring laws meant to limit civilian deaths.
🔻Article V: Replacing maritime law enforcement with unauthorized lethal military strikes on drug boats, “resulting in at least 221 deaths,” plus alleged secondary strikes on survivors and failure to rescue the shipwrecked.
🔻Article VI: Using Pentagon power to retaliate against Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.) for speech questioning military orders. (Kelly was part of the Seditious Six, whom many say committed treason by telling service members to ignore presidential directives.)
🔻Article VII: Directing Operation ABSOLUTE RESOLVE to seize Nicolás Maduro and Cilia Flores in Venezuela allegedly “without constitutional or legal authority.”
🔻Article VIII: Starting Operation ROUGH RIDER in Yemen allegedly without authorization or an imminent threat.
Many say that Massie is bitter over losing his seat in Congress.
