#new Senator John Thune is in danger of being primaried for not passing the SAVE Act as an operation is being launched to oust the Senate Majority leader unless he acts before the November Midterms
Scott Pressler helped to take down a pair of Thune’s key allies (Rino Senators) as a warning to the Leader: pass the SAVE Act or face the consequences of the people (peacefully)
Pressler saying,
“After Senator Cassidy’s loss in Louisiana & Senator Cornyn’s loss in Texas, Leader Thune still has the opportunity to pass the SAVE America Act.”
“I can make one promise: If the SAVE America Act does not go into effect BEFORE November 2026, Leader Thune will have a Texas-sized primary on his hands — peacefully.”
He plans to attend the South Dakota Republican State Convention June 25-27, to recruit donors, business owners, and field staff.
Presler openly targeted Senators Cassidy (R-LA) and John Cornyn (R-TX) because he viewed them as Thune’s “most staunch allies” protecting Thune’s resistance to passing the SAVE Act.
Pressler said,
“If Thune won’t give us what we want, then we will take away his allies — peacefully.”
He then campaigned in Louisiana and Texas against them.
Louisiana: On May 16, incumbent Sen. Bill Cassidy finished third in the Republican primary.
Cassidy, who had voted to convict President Donald Trump in his second impeachment, was beaten in a land-slide by Trump-aligned candidates.
Texas: A few days ago Attorney General Ken Paxton crushed incumbent Sen. Cornyn in the Republican runoff, winning by nearly 40 points.
Conservatives say this is proof that voters are done with excuses and will primary Republicans who slow-walk Trump agenda items.
