The Venezuelan President, Nicolas Maduro has been captured and brought to American Soil to face charges. This after the U.S. military, – under the direction of President Donald Trump -executed a large-scale military strike early this morning – with Trump confirming there were no US CasualtiesSOTMaduro and his wife, Cilia Flores were taken into custody just hours after meeting with China – where they reportedly talked about joining forces against the U.S.
Trump announced the targeted airstrike that focused primarily on key military installations, including Venezuela’s largest military complex, a military airfield, and other strategic sites tied to the regime’s command and control – while reportedly making sure the country’s oil infrastructure and civilian areas were unharmed.
Maduro was first indicted back in 2020 during Trump’s first term. The superseding indictment, unsealed in the Southern District of New York, charged Maduro and 14 other current and former Venezuelan officials with narco-terrorism conspiracy, cocaine importation conspiracy, possession of machine guns and destructive devices, and other related charges – accusing them of leading the “Cartel de los Soles” with with the FARC terrorist group – to flood America with drugs as a weapon against the nation.
Pam Bondi confirmed the indictment that will reportedly be updated to include Maduro’s wife so both narco-terrorists will
“Soon face the full wrath of American justice on American soil in American courts.”

As news of the capture spread, Venezuelans in Miami who escaped the country poured into the streets to celebrate the end of Maduro’s brutal rule. They were waving flags, chainting freedom and thanking President Trump for ending the years of suffering with many highlighting how Maduro’s socialist policies had devastated their homeland, forcing millions to flee.
Under Maduro’s rule since 2013, Venezuela—an oil-rich nation—plunged into economic ruin, with GDP shrinking by over 75%, hyperinflation soaring to millions of percent, and poverty impacting more than 90% of the population.
His regime’s corruption and repression led to widespread malnutrition, a resurgence of preventable diseases, torture and killings, and fraudulent elections,and prompting the largest exodus in Latin American history of over 7.7 million.
