New video has been released showing what’s being called “Chinese super drones.” The drones have been described as being “terrifying”.
A team at Zhejiang University released the video of 10 drones strategically making their way through what appears to be a forest. What sparked the ‘terrifying’ description of the video is when the drones started chasing a man through the trees. They were able to follow and find him even as the man was hiding behind objects.
According to the team, the drones utilize an algorithm that lets them chart their surroundings in real time.
In addition, their internal software updates “every few milliseconds,” and they don’t run on GPS so no satellite coverage, no problem.
A former senior Pentagon official and expert on drone warfare, praised the program saying,
“We can’t see from the Chinese video whether the drones are communicating and coordinating with each other,” he said. “It could just be a launch of drones like the launch of missiles from a multiple-launch rocket system. However, the test shows that China is developing swarm drone systems and they could be operational in a few years.”

A clip showed dozens of the deadly devices being launched from a weapons system mounted to the back of a truck and also being dropped from helicopters.
The China Academy of Electronics and Information Technology’s video showed 48 attack weapons being launched with compressed air before using an electric propeller to fly towards and then overwhelm their targets.
Each carries highly-explosive charges designed to rip through tanks and annihilate armored vehicles.
