Zelenskyy Demands Trump End Russian Deal, Threatens To Attack Diesel Ships

#News Volodymyr Zelenskyy is demanding that the United States shut down Russia’s entire economy, stop any sales that benefit Moscow, impose more sanctions on its weapons, and immediately open Starlink for Ukrainian forces to dominate the skies over Russian territory. He’s now also threatening to bomb any Russian oil tankers heading toward the United States.  Starlink has been available inside Ukraine (including occupied areas) since early in the war, but SpaceX has blocked use over undisputed Russian territory, citing escalation risk. …..Zelenskyy has asked President Donald Trump multiple times for political approval to enable longer-range drone targeting of launchers; Trump has deferred to Elon Musk. Ukraine is also reportedly developing its own satellite system modeled on Starlink.

The day of Zelenskyy’s comments, President Trump announced that Putin had agreed to supply:

🟩More than 300,000 tons of diesel immediately to the American and global market,

🟩Another 500,000 tons in November

🟩1 million tons after that, and

🟩Up to 3 million more depending on the condition of Russian refineries (which Ukraine has already struck).  …..The U.S. Treasury promptly issued a temporary general license suspending sanctions on Russian diesel exports until April 7, of next year. Other Russian assets remain frozen.  ….Trump linked the move, plus U.S. control of the Strait of Hormuz, to bringing diesel prices down quickly ahead of the November midterms.

President Trump said Ukraine needs “a new leader who can make a deal,” saying  Zelenskyy “could have settled this war many, many times, but he chooses not to,” and that the refinery strikes are making problems for farmers….. and diesel more expensive.  …..Critics say that Zelenskyy is entitled and doesn’t appreciate the hundreds of billions in aid given to Ukraine, demanding more every day and refusing to make a deal with Putin to end the war.

The Trump administration’s consistent position has been that the war is in a dangerous stalemate and should be ended by negotiation rather than further escalation.

Secretary Marco Rubio has repeatedly said that military solutions are not an option, and that escalation risks a wider regional conflict.
