USAID Contractor Convicted & Sentenced For Conspiracy to Obtain Grant Money Through Fraud
A former contractor for USAID has been convicted and sentenced for conspiracy to obtain grant money through fraud
53-Year-Old Stephen Paul Edmund Sutton of the UK, was extradited, pleaded guilty, and was sentenced for his role in the fraud scheme.
Sutton was getting kickbacks of USAID funds from The Power Distribution Program (PDP) – which was giving taxpayer money through USAID to modernize electric companies in Pakistan.
The program was created in 2010 under Barack Obama.
DOGE audits found rampant waste, fraud and abuse in USAID, and Trump moved to dismantle the agency however Democrats fought fiercely to keep all funding flowing through the program.
