#new Fast Fact: During the Obama years, CNN did a ride-along with ICE agents arresting illegal migrant criminals in a ‘so-called Sanctuary city’ with the report being overwhelmingly positive
The 2016 CNN segment titled “A Day with ICE in a So-Called Sanctuary City” gave a positive portrayal of ICE operations as they arrested criminals and families alike.
ICE agents were followed all day, as they conducted raids and arrested the illegals in Los Angeles.
The reporter described the illegals as “fugitives” and “criminal aliens,” while talking about how professional the agents were especially in light of how dangerous their job was.
The ride-along happened during the time when Obama was overseeing record deportations, with more than 3 million illegals deported during the time he was in office leading to his nickname “Deporter-in-Chief”
The Obama administration was also the creator of ‘Kids in Cages” where illegals were kept in small square rooms, surrounded by chain link fences and given silver Mylar blankets.
However, those pictures didn’t go viral until Trump’s first term, when the media including CNN, tried to demonize Trump for the alleged poor treatment of illegals in detention.
Critics are now pointing to the ‘hypocrisy’ of the mainstream media, including CNN, and Obama for now labeling the same type of ICE operations as cruel, racist and un-American.
Democrat officials are also labeling agents as ‘gestapo’ and ‘nazis’
What was once considered necessary border security under Obama, is now demonized under Trump by the same media outlets and Obama himself.
