Ilhan Omar’s Winery Selling Empty Barrels Of Wine, Defrauding Investors, Investigation Says

#BreakingNews Somali Rep. Ilhan Omar’s husband’s California winery was shut down for fraud after they sold investors empty barrels of wine that had nothing inside, according to House Oversight Chairman James Comer.

Comer said the winery—the big base of Omar’s reported multimillion-dollar listings—was shut down because of fraud. Investors were apparently sold barrels of wine to age, but the barrels were empty

The Santa Rosa winery, eStCru, co-owned by Omar’s husband Tim Mynett, was formally terminated April 4, 2026, right as House Republicans were probing the couple’s financial disclosures.

Those filings showed Mynett’s stake in eStCru jumping from $15,000–$50,000 in 2023 to $1 million–$5 million in 2024, while a related firm surged even higher—pushing the couple’s reported assets as high as $30 million before an amended filing later dropped them under $100,000.

Prior investor lawsuits already said Mynett and his business partner of fraud and misrepresentation over a $300,000 investment that promised 200% returns. The company had almost no money in the bank while defending the suit.

“From our initial investigation of Omar and her financial disclosure form, there are multiple fronts where you could get a search warrant issued,” House Oversight Committee chairman James Comer

“Not only was there a huge discrepancy in the financial disclosure form, there was the winery that was the big base of her $25 million listing on her financial disclosure form.”

“That winery has, according to the press, been shut down because of fraud. They were apparently selling investors barrels of wine to be aged, but there was nothing in the barrels.”

“Given that these companies do not publicly list their investors or where their money comes from, this sudden jump in value raises concerns that unknown individuals may be investing to gain influence with your wife,” he said at the time.

Couple of months later, in April, the winery reportedly shut down operations.
