Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed was caught in a lie after saying he didn’t know his mother – who worked for a U.S.-designated terrorist organization linked to funding Osama bin Laden, the Taliban, and Hamas.
Federal court documents and U.S. Treasury records confirm Fatten Elkomy’s was employed at the Islamic American/African Relief Agency (IARA) and her name appearing more than a dozen times in exhibits involving wire transfers and calls.
In addition his publicly posted that his mother – Elkomy – is part of the Mslim Brotherhood – before El-Sayed denied any association between him and his family and the Mslim botherhood. El-Sayed has built a campaign narrative around his father Mohamed El-Sayed and white stepmother Jacqueline Johnson.
And even though El-Sayed has denied any closeness to his mother, records show something different. In fact, Elkomy attended El-Sayed’s 2014 graduation from Columbia University.
A photo shows the two smiling together with his sister Eman Abdelhadi.
🟩In his 2020 book Healing Politics, El-Sayed described his birth mother as “loving” and “devoted,” writing that both parents are “strong-willed, charismatic, charming – and both are uncompromising, not only in their beliefs, but also in their approaches to life and their way of doing things.”
🟩In 2020 he sent Abdelhadi money via Venmo labeled for “Mama’s bday gift.”
🟩This past Mother’s Day he posted a video of a call in which Elkomy says emotionally,
“Without you, I would not have been a mother,” and he responds,
“ Enjoy the day, and we’ll see you soon, ok? Love you, Mama.”
His parents separated when he was 3, Records and his own past comments indicate summers and ongoing adult contact with Elkomy in Missouri.
How can voters in Michigan judge a candidate’s honesty on national security questions when his public statements about his own mother seem to be a lie. #christinaaguayonews
