Biden Signs Bill That Allows Government To Confiscate Guns Through Red Flag Laws

Joe Biden signed a gun control bill after it was passed through the Democrat-controlled Congress at breakneck speed clearing the way for more gun control measures in the future.

The $13 billion measure will target gun owners and begin the process of confiscating guns from people that the government (or other citizens) deem a danger to society under the guise of Red Flag Laws.

Red Flag Laws allow guns to be confiscated after a single accusation or complaint has been launched against the owner of the gun. That complaint can come in the form of concerns about mental health history, current behavior or any other ‘reason’ a person thinks another person should not be able to own a gun.

The gun owner is not notified of the complaint or even allowed to contest the allegations against them. Their fundamental constitutional right is taken away with a single uncorroborated accusation.

We’ve actually seen this recently, Twitter for one comes to mind. Accounts are easily and swiftly suspended if someone doesn’t agree with what you posted and complains, only this time they have the power to take your guns. A power that can be abused by angry ex’s, political adversaries, big government agendas or simply the liberal left who may take the opportunity to launch complaints about any and all gun owners.

Not possible? Maybe not but we are seeing something similar play out in real time with the Roe v. Wade Supreme court ruling. Pro-abortionists taking part in a ‘night of rage’ that has actually stretched the entire weekend. The angry mobs picketing outside the homes of conservative Supreme Court Justices in an attempt to intimidate with some groups even threating violence. Churches set on fire, Pro-Life centers vandalized and Democrats calling to impeach Supreme Court Justices because they disagree with their decision to give the power back to the States A.K.A to give the power back to the people – seems fair.

Now imagine those same ‘protesters’ being able to file a complaint or launch an accusation and get your gun rights taken away simply because they disagree with gun ownership. Do you trust those ‘protesters’ to scale back their extremism and refrain from filing false complaints that will take away your constitutional right to own a gun?  A question we all need to ask ourselves.

The measure also beefs up background checks and expands the definition of domestic relationships when considering whether or not a gun should be confiscated.

Many Republicans including Donald Trump are warning that this is the first step in the government taking all gun rights away from American citizens.

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, spoke out against the gun control measure on Twitter saying,

“It’s common sense. If we want to keep our kids safe, do not disarm law-abiding citizens. Instead, put criminals in jail and have police officers on campus to protect our kids.”

House GOP Whip Steve Scalise, R-La., said this measure is the first step in taking away 2nd amendment rights,

“In an effort to slowly chip away at law-abiding citizens’ 2nd Amendment rights, this legislation takes the wrong approach in attempting to curb violent crimes.”

Democrats have echoed the sentiment saying this is only the first step in taking away gun rights such as Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) who said the Senate gun legislation “paves the way” for more gun control measures.

The Senate vote on final passage was 65-33.
