More than 40 Illegal migrants were found dead inside a Semi-truck in San Antonio, Texas.
The news came as U.S. Congressman Tony Gonzales posted the information to his Twitter page saying,
“Today in San Antonio it was 102 degrees. Imagine being abandoned inside an 18-wheeler left to die – 42 people died today – will @AliMayorkas even mention their names?”
According to local media, crews were at the 9600 block of Quintana Road where the truck with the illegal migrants was located. At least 16 others were injured and taken to the hospital.
Ambulances, fire trucks and numerous other police vehicles were on scene and police could be seen searching the woods nearby.
Authorities believe the incident is part of a human smuggling operation and there could’ve been as many as 100 illegal migrants in the truck.
This is the latest in a series of crisis and deaths that have occurred at the Southern border since Joe Biden took office.
Many point to the Biden Administration’s open border policies as a reason for the record setting number of illegal migrants crossing the border every month.
Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data indicates that 239,416 illegal migrants crossed the border in the month of May alone. That number is up from the record setting 235,438 illegal migrants that crossed in April.
Nearly half of all illegal migrants are allowed entry into the United States.
