Officials say it happened just after 6 pm Saturday night when the man drove his car into a crowd of Community members in Berwick, Pa. who were holding an all-day fundraiser to benefit the victims and families of a fatal house fire that happened in nearby Nescopeck earlier in the month.
After the man plowed into the crowd of people, police received a call that a man in the Nescopeck Borough of Luzerne County was seen physically assaulting a woman. When state troopers arrived on the scene, the woman was dead and the man had been arrested by police.
Pennsylvania State Police identified the man as 24-year-old Adrian Oswaldo Sura Reyes of Nescopeck, and said he is a suspect in both cases.
Reyes is being charged with two counts of criminal homicide and has been denied bail.
The investigation is being considered ‘very active’
