#new Lindsay Clancy pulled the exercise bands- that she tied around each of her children’s necks- with 10 pounds of pressure, one by one until their bodies went limp, according to the testimony of medical experts.
#Massachusetts Those experts also testified that 3-year-old Dawson struggled against his mother’s attack – which was painful.
Prosecutors say after she k*lled her children, one by one – she left the bands tied around their necks (described as similar to a shoelace knot without the bow)
They called this deliberate and extremely cruel. Medical examiner Dr. Barbara Olson gave graphic autopsy details of the strangulation that killed 5-year-old Cora and 3-year-old Dawson
🔷️On Cora: There was a clear horizontal mark around her neck from the band that was used to strangle her.
➡️The area under the band was pale (white-ish) with sharp top and bottom edges.
➡️ On the front of her neck, the lower part of that mark also had small red scrapes.
➡️Tiny red spots from burst blood vessels were spread across her face, especially around her eyes, on the insides of her eyelids, and on the insides of her lips.
➡️ She also had fresh red bruises on her right arm and legs.
🔷️On Dawson: He had a very similar pale horizontal mark around his neck with clear top and bottom edges from the band.
➡️On the back of his neck, there were parallel scrapes running along those edges.
➡️The tiny red spots from burst blood vessels on his face were more widespread and noticeable than on Cora.
➡️The medical examiner said this could mean the pressure on the band changed at times or that he struggled, causing brief spikes in blood pressure.
➡️ He also had fresh red and purple bruises on his left arm and legs.
➡️On the back of his neck, the top and bottom edges of the mark showed linear bruising.

➡️Patrick Clancy found him near Cora, face-down, with the band still around his neck, and took it off.
➡️First responders and hospital staff were able to restart his heart/pulse for a short time, but there was no brain activity.
➡️He was flown to Boston Children’s , placed on life support, and died three days later.
️➡His brain showed swelling and injury consistent with oxygen deprivation, but because he was a baby, he had far less ability to struggle than the older children.
➡ Testimony noted deep strangulation marks around his neck.
Prosecutors say the killings were intentional acts carried out with extreme atrocity and cruelty and deliberate premeditation.
They note Clancy sent her husband Patrick out to pick up takeout and medication, (on a meticulously time errand run) giving herself time to mrder her kids.
The defense has admitted she klled her kids but argues she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and should not be held criminally responsible.
Critics of the women supporting the ‘child kller’ say sympathy should be given to the three children who were scared and running from the person they trusted to protect them, not the person who mrdered them.
