Emergency dispatch audio details how first responders were sent out at 8:36 a.m. June 14th
Neighbors confirmed seeing the 84-year-old Kentucky Republican on a stretcher being loaded into an ambulance outside his home.

His spokesman, David Popp, issued a statement that same day confirming that McConnell had been taken to the hospital but didn’t say anything about his condition, saying only that he “is receiving excellent care.”
McConnell’s office has been tight lipped since the incident.
On June 15, Senate Majority Leader John Thune and Senate GOP Whip John Barrasso both spoke directly with McConnell.
They said that he “sounded good” remained engaged on Senate business and the floor schedule and wanted to return soon.
His staff released statements on June 22 and 24th saying that McConnell “is still working closely with staff on Senate business and Kentucky matters as he continues his recovery” they added that he would not vote that week.

As of July 2nd, his team says he is recovering and actively engaged with staff.
However, speculation is rising as it’s been more than 2 weeks since his colleagues have confirmed they’ve seen or talked to him.
McConnell has a documented history of health issues including:
A 2023 concussion and broken ribs from a fall,
Multiple freezing episodes that year, additional falls in 2024, and
A February 2026 hospitalization for flu-like symptoms
He announced in February 2025 that he will not seek reelection. His current term ends in January 2027.
Claims are popping up that McConnell has been secretly kept on life support since the June 14 incident, and that Democrats are orchestrating a cover-up to destroy the SAVE Act and trigger a massive government shutdown.
However, those claims have not been verified.
