#News Body Cam Shows 6-year-Old After Shooting Teacher “F**k You B**ch” As Mom Appears To Make Excuses

#new The mother whose 6-year-old son shot his first-grade teacher in the chest, tried to explain away the attack saying her child felt ignored, has ADHD, and knocked a phone out of his teacher’s hand “on accident.” “Actually really liked her. I will say that week he did come home and he was talking, you know, a lot about how he felt like he was being ignored. So he would come home and, Mom, I don’t think that she was listening to me. I didn’t like that.” “And then actually he ended up getting suspended the next day because he was in class. He was trying to tell her something and she asked him to go sit back down. He threw his arms up. He said, fine. And when he threw his arms up, he knocked her phone out of her hand on accident. And he got suspended for that.” “He has ADHD. Some are able to have it at a very mild rate, but he’s off the wall, doesn’t sit still ever.” Deja Taylor made the statements in a 2023 interview shortly after the shooting. Critics say, that based on her statements, they can see why the child thought he could attack his teach

🔷️Taylor’s son took her 9mm from her purse on a dresser. She first told detectives the gun had a trigger lock, but later admitted there was not one.

🔷️She pleaded guilty to felony child neglect and to lying on the federal form when she bought the gun while using marijuana every day.

🔷️On January 6, 2023, at about 2 p.m., the boy pulled that gun from his hoodie during an afternoon reading lesson and fired one round at 25-year-old teacher Abigail Zwerner from about 10 feet, in front of her class. The bullet went through her left hand and into her chest. It collapsed a lung. It missed her heart and is still in her chest. She walked her students out, then lost consciousness. She spent nearly two weeks in the hospital and had six surgeries. She does not have full use of her left hand. Previously Reported #News New body cam shows the 6-year-old boy – who shot his first-grade teacher – calling police officers ‘btches’ and saying he ‘shot that btch ded’

#virginia The boy cursed at police and a teacher minutes after he shot his teacher Abby Zwerner in her own classroom and admitted that he stole the gun from his mom.

The shooting happened at about 2 p.m. on Jan. 6, 2023, at Richneck Elementary.

Zwerner was starting an afternoon reading group with 16 other students when the boy, identified in court only as J.T., pulled the pistol from a jacket pocket and fired from about 10 feet away. She raised her left hand.  The round passed through the hand and lodged in her chest. It missed her heart. She and the other children got out of the room. She collapsed in the school office. Reading specialist Amy Kovac ran in, called 911, and held the boy in a bear hug until police arrived. The body cam video was the prosecution’s first exhibit at Parker’s May trial. …watch: ***

Details from the video:

🔵Kovac points officers to the gun and says the boy “just admitted that he had one … he had one bullet.”

🔵A sheriff’s deputy finds the gun on the floor, 15 to 20 feet from the child, and radios, “I got a weapon.” Another officer says, “We have the shooter.”

🔵The boy tells Kovac, “Fk you, bh.”

🔵He tells officers,

🔵“If you want a piece of me, come get it on, bh. I don’t care if you call backup. I don’t care if I go to jail, bh.”

🔵“My mom had that. I stole that from my mom.”

🔵Kovac tells officers she had already warned the assistant principal:

🔵“I told the (assistant principal) that there was a threat earlier about it.”

🔵He uses a racial slur, then punches Kovac and knocks off her glasses.

🔵A sergeant takes him out of the room. Court records say he climbed onto his mother’s dresser that morning, took the loaded gun from her purse, and put it in his backpack. Investigators never found the trigger lock his mother first claimed was on the gun. The gun was a 9mm Taurus that jammed with rounds still in the magazine. A civil jury awarded Zwerner $10 million against former assistant principal Ebony Parker in November 2025, since Parker had been warned about the threat but did nothing about it.****

Parker’s eight felony child-neglect counts were dismissed with prejudice on May 21, 2026. Zwerner survived after emergency surgery, but the bullet is still in her chest. By the 2026 criminal trial, she had undergone six surgeries and had limited use of her left hand. She testified, “I saw the student looking at me. I looked over. A gun was pointed right at me… And then I was shot.” “I thought I had died.” The mother, Deja Nicole Taylor, was convicted and sentenced to 21 months in November 2023 for lying on the gun-purchase form and for possessing a firearm as an unlawful marijuana user. A state judge gave her two years for felony child neglect in December 2023, to run after the federal term, for a combined sentence of about three years and nine months. The boy was too young to be charged under Virginia law, is now 9 or 10 and lives with his great-grandfather in Newport News. Where do you think a 6-year-old boy learned to act and talk that way? #ChristinaAguayoNews
