President Trump confirmed Operation Absolute Resolve was a successful mission that involved large-scale strikes on Venezuelan targets and the live capture of dictator Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores – with out any US fatalities
Maduro, indicted in 2020 (with superseding charges unsealed in 2026) for narco-terrorism, drug trafficking, and related crimes, was extracted from Caracas and flown to New York for federal trial – Alive.
Mainstream outlets and Democrats called the operation “imperialism,” “violation of sovereignty,” and “unauthorized war,” with calls for congressional oversight.
However….some dictators & terrorists didn’t get the chance to have a trial:
Barack Obama ordered the 2011 raid killing Osama bin Laden in Pakistan without congressional approval—and it was praised as heroic justice.
Obama launched the 2011 Libya intervention, leading to Gaddafi’s brutal death by rebels, without congressional authorization— he later called it his “worst mistake” after the resulting chaos, rise of ISIS, and regional instability.
Joe Biden authorized the 2022 drone strike killing Al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri in Afghanistan—no congressional approval, minimal backlash.
In 2016 alone, the Obama administration dropped 26,171 bombs across seven countries with out any backlash or scrutiny – even though civilians and Americans were k*lled****8
Over 12,000 in Iraq and Syria against ISIS.
Continued strikes in Afghanistan, Libya (post-Gaddafi), Yemen, Somalia, and Pakistan.
Averaging three bombs per hour with limited transparency on civilian impacts.
Then there’s the civilian and American casualties:
January 23, 2009 (Pakistan): Two drone attacks in Waziristan just days into Obama’s presidency—reportedly killed 20 civilians
December 17, 2009 (Yemen): An Obama cruise missile strike targeting alleged al-Qaeda killed at least 41 civilians, including 21 children and 12 women (five pregnant), in what was intended as a counterterrorism operation.
October 2012 (Pakistan): A drone strike killed 65-year-old grandmother Mamana Bibi while she gathered vegetables; nine children (her grandchildren) were injured nearby.
January 2015 (Pakistan): A drone strike mistakenly killed American aid worker and Italian aid worker-Obama personally apologized and offered compensation
“Signature strikes” (targeting based on behavior patterns) and “double-tap” follow-ups killed more civilians, including funerals and gatherings misidentified as militant assemblies.
U.S. drone operations under Obama killed four American citizens, according to Attorney General Eric Holder’s 2013 disclosure
Anwar al-Awlaki (September 30, 2011, Yemen): Deliberate CIA drone strike killed the U.S.-born al-Qaeda operative, justified as an imminent threat despite controversy over extrajudicial killing of a citizen.
Abdulrahman al-Awlaki (October 14, 2011, Yemen): 16-year-old son of Anwar, a U.S. citizen with no alleged militant ties, killed in a separate strike—described by officials as unintended collateral.
Samir Khan (September 30, 2011, Yemen): U.S. citizen and al-Qaeda propagandist killed alongside Anwar al-Awlaki
Jude Kenan Mohammad (November 2011, Pakistan): Believed killed in a strike, family and reports indicate he was not specifically targeted.
An Obama AC-130 gunship airstrike on October 3, 2015, destroyed a Doctors Without Borders (MSF) trauma center in Afghanistan, killing 42 people (including 14 staff, 24 patients, and 4 caretakers) and injuring dozens more.
