Thune also said the votes are not there to pass the act, however he has been called out multiple times by other Senators, who presented evidence that there are 50 votes that are there for voter ID and proof of citizenship for registration.

The senators will now leave to celebrate the Fourth of July with a vacation starting June 29th through July 10th.
Senators continue receiving their full salaries during this time, funded by taxpayers.
The period is one of many other extended breaks built into the 2026 schedule, including a month-long break in August.
Thune (R-S.D.) has repeatedly been called a RINO and Mitch McConnell 2.0 by his colleagues and critics.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump unleashed on GOP senators earlier today during a luncheon – demanding that Senator Thune start acting like a leader and get the votes for the SAVE Act
Trump told the Senators to nuke the filibuster and pass the SAVE act. – or a Republican will never again be elected to the presidency and there will never be a republican senate or house again.
