“In God We Trust” Signs Must Be Displayed In Texas Schools If Donated

Senate Bill 797, passed back in 2021, that puts God and the national motto back into classrooms has recently gone into effect in Texas.

The Bill states that schools must display “In God We Trust’ signs that have been donated to the school if there is no cost associated with the display.

The bill states that elementary and secondary schools must “display in a conspicuous place in each building of the school or institution a durable poster or framed copy of the United States national motto,” if the sign has been donated or purchased with donated funds.

Texas State Rep. Tom Oliverson, who co-authored the bill, said it’s a great opportunity to display the national motto in public schools,

“This was [an] idea that I had after seeing something similar happen in a couple of different states.”

Schools are already receiving donations. Signs were donated to Carroll Independent School District in the Dallas area,

And The Yellow Rose of Texas Republican Women made donations to two districts in the Houston area.

“We were excited that a few of the sponsors were able to come along and present their poster to the school’s principal… Each visit was accompanied by staff smiles and ‘thank you’s’. This has been such a blessing! Thank you to ALL the sponsors for making this project the success it has been!”
