TX Supreme Court Rules State Can Investigate Parents For Child Abuse Over Transgender Treatment On Kids

In a huge win for Governor Greg Abbott, the Texas Supreme Court has ruled that the state can investigate parents of kids that are being put through ‘gender affirming’ treatments for child abuse.

The Texas Supreme Court issued the opinion Friday.

The ruling came after state officials including Gov. Abbott filed an emergency appeal after an appeals court decision had temporarily halted the inquiries statewide.

Gov. Abbott issued the first of it’s kind order that instructed child welfare officials to investigate reports of gender-affirming treatments for kids as abuse.

A judge in Austin put that order on hold after a lawsuit brought on behalf of the 16-year-old whose family said the state was already investigating their family. It was filed by the American Civil Liberties Union and Lambda Legal.

The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services said it opened nine investigations following the directive and opinion.

In a social media post following the ruling, Paxton said he had “just secured a win.”

Across the country, other states are stepping in and passing bills to protect kids and women from transgender ideology.

In March, the Arizona Legislature passed a bill to prohibit gender confirmation surgery for kids and banned transgender athletes from competing on girls sports teams.   Gov. Doug Ducey signed the bills into law.
