More E. Coli Cases Reported As Outbreak Possibly Linked To Fast Food Chain Lettuce

Illnesses are being reported in multiple states after an E. coli outbreak, according to the Center for Disease Control.

On Aug. 17, the CDC reported that 29 people have been infected with nearly half of them in Ohio.  Two days later eight more people reportedly have E. coli in Indiana and Pennsylvania.

The total of illnesses is now at least 37 with 10 hospitalized.

The CDC reported that more than 80% of the 26 people they interviewed said they ate at Wendy’s in Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania the week before they started feeling sick.

There is no recommendation from the CDC to stop eating at Wendy’s or romaine lettuce.

There is no evidence showing that romaine lettuce sold in grocery stores or served in other restaurants is linked to the outbreak.

No deaths have been reported.
